How far in advance do you recommend meeting with a florist for our upcoming wedding day?

We recommend booking your flowers about 8-12 months in advance.  A lot of brides feel they are ready to start the process earlier than that, which is great too, as soon as you feel ready, we encourage coming in for a consultation to talk through all of the details!

Which flowers are the most underused or underrated? Or which flowers would you like to work with more?

Carnations, Zinnias, Campanula. Carnations are so beautiful and they come in mini size as well which makes them even more versatile. They don't get enough love, and they are available in so many different colours, they can be used in any wedding look!  Zinnias are more seasonal flowers, which is why they aren't used as much, but they are stunning and we'd love to see more people using and loving them the way we do. Campanula comes in a variety of colours and has beautiful bell shaped flowers for those couples that love garden style.

What colours are you seeing trending in the 2024 season so far?

All shades of purple! Brides are loving the lavenders, lilacs, dark purples, the whole range of tones. Peachy tones are also making a big appearance this year for Spring & Summer.

What's a common misconception that you encounter with pricing?

A common misconception is that Baby's Breath is a cost effective flower, or that silk/fake flowers are cheaper. In reality, the Baby's Breath wedding look can be quite expensive if there is no greenery being used. Silk/fake flowers tend to be more expensive than fresh these days, which shocks people when they find that out. Silk/fake flowers are only less expensive when they are a rental. 

How can couples stretch their floral budget?

By asking questions and being open to different options. We want to be within everyone's budget and still give them their dream vision. If we are out of budget, we can always make recommendations of how to lower this, as long as couple's are open to ideas and changes. Doing something as simple as switching out a type of flower or greenery can already make a big difference.
